Items

Items

Items are the central and fundamental part of Osmos. These are used in quotes. To create or update an item go to Catalogs > Item catalog > Add

Complete the information of the item found in this 1st tab.

 Price List

This functionality is very useful for businesses that handle different prices for the same item. In Osmos you can have up to 4 prices:

The A price is the base price of the item and can only be changed by changing the price of the item. This is the price that is taken as the default for all customers and items when you create a quote.
Prices B, C and D are additional prices for the same item and each letter refers to a price list. If you don't need to use all the lists you can set the prices only in the lists you use.
If for some reason you assign a price list to a customer who doesn't have a value, the value that will be taken into account will be the price from list A.
The prices assigned in lists B, C and D cannot be changed in the quotes. Only the price in list A can be changed manually in the quotes.
To assign a price list to a customer you have to do it from the Customers module. Select the customer and navigate to the customer statistics tab. Click on modify and select the list to apply:

NOTE 1: Not all users have access to make these types of modifications. Only the Super Administrator and the user with privileges. To assign the privilege is done from the user's profile.
NOTE 2: The eQuote will always display prices from list A. If the customer enters their email and it is already registered and has a list assigned, the prices in the quote will be updated automatically.

Article grouping
Grouping items is very practical for businesses that must include in the quotes a series of other items or services that are linked to the main item. In other words, they come as a package or as a whole.

IMPORTANT!! Before grouping articles, it is essential that the other articles to be grouped are registered in your product catalogue.

In this example we have a vacuum cleaner that comes in a package with its brushes, which were grouped under the article vacuum cleaner.
When you select the main item in the eQuote or in your quote module, you will see how the grouped items will be automatically added to the quote.
You can modify each of the articles or delete them.

TIP: If the articles that come in a package and without a package have different prices, we recommend you to create an article for each case with the same characteristics, but with a different price. Price with package and price without package.  Group the item with package price to your product.

Sub-Articles

Adding sub-articles is very useful for businesses that want to group articles under the same "article title" because of similarity. This is used when there are different versions of the same article where the base is the same but not the characteristics.  Examples: Colors, sizes, versions.

IMPORTANT!! Before adding sub-articles, it is essential that the other versions of the articles are registered in your product catalogue. Remember that each sub-article can have its own description, price, cost, unit, etc....

In this example we have as base a Palm Tree and the sub-articles were added: Palm Tree of 1 meter and Palm Tree of 3 meters.
Once sub articles are added to an article, these sub articles WILL NO LONGER APPEAR as separate articles in your eQuote product list or in the quotes module. They will now be grouped under the main item and you will have the option to select the main item or sub article from the list.

NOTE: As sub articles are added, this will be the order of appearance in the list.

TIP: Group the sub articles under a base article or create a general article and add the sub articles under it.

Example:If you sell computers, add under the base computer the different versions of the same computer as sub articles.

If you sell glasses, but each one has a different color, add a general article that says "Colored Cups" and under this add the sub items: Black Cup, Green Cup, Blue Cup, etc.....
